Day 3, 4, 5, 6 Sketches 2025 February

I am running behind, as usual, but these are my sketches for the last four days. We had company Saturday, Sunday, and Thursday and had to go out of town Tuesday, but I managed sketching some. I'm gathering up items from around the house and writing descriptions now. Lots of memories with most of them.  So far, so good on a sketch a day!

Monday, the 3rd, I sketched a bird Christmas tree ornament that I got at Walmart at least ten  years ago. It's actually covered in turquoise glitter, sequins, beads, and feathers. Very pretty!

The rabbit is one of three I purchased, I think at Hobby Lobby, many moons ago. It's an off white bisque ceramic figure. I actually bought the three to hang on a little shelf that I had in our bathroom at the time, and they looked adorable, but hubby kept bumping into the shelf and knocking it down, so they became tree ornaments. They could be painted, but I like them off white. They actually look more like they're leaping instead of kneeling. But that's ok. Good practice! Zig Writer pen to sketch both...

Tuesday, the 4th, I sketched this peacock feather ornament, which matches the bird above. It's also turquoise glitter strands with an iridescent bluish-green sequin eye with a royal blue gem in the middle. It also has some long slender black feathers and some pale fuzzy turquoise feathers , all held together with a large royal blue gem in a goldish frame. I used a Zig Writer pen and Tombow watercolor markers. Much prettier than the sketch, but it is what it is!

Now this one is a VERY rough sketch of a pink pony from memory after I watched the Grammys and saw Chappel Roan perform the "Pink Pony Club", and she was riding a large pink pony. I watched it again on Youtube and sketched the bottom one the next day, still very rough. I used a pink Posca paint pen, a Pitt pen, and a silver glitter gel pen. I've had the song on a loop through my head around the clock ever since the Grammys aired!

Wednesday, the 5th, I sketched another tree ornament, which is a cage type box with a pointed top containing a mini white sequined Christmas tree. The box is gold glitter covered with a white beaded and sequined top. I used a Pitt pen and a gold glitter gel pen. I got it from my aunt in an ornament exchange a couple of years before my mom died in 2017.

Thursday, the 6th, I sketched this little wren type bird in a vine nest with moss and eggs, which has also become a tree ornament. However, it was originally included in a large grapevine wreath arrangement given to me by my cousins when my dad died in 2004. I used a Pitt pen and colored pencils. It's small, but not mini, and I'm thinking it might work in one of my cage doll skirts. We'll see!

I wasn't really in the mood to sketch yesterday (hubby was talking), thus the words, but I did it anyway! I like it!

My pink Christmas tree has been sitting in my spare bedroom, fully decorated, since before my mom died, so around nine years. I just haven't had the heart to put up one in years. So, basically, I'm taking the ornaments off to sketch and at the same time finally taking my pink Christmas tree down! When it's naked I'm going to put the tree in the flower bed! It will get it out of our way and the birds will love it, as I have!

Today is Friday, and it's been a busy morning, so I haven't sketched or done my therapy yet, but I have an item ready to model for me. This one is not off the Christmas tree! No wonder I never get around to the housework!

Hope you enjoyed your visit! Take care and stay well. Lots of viruses running around!
