Okay! Since I've already done one long post this morning, the one with sketching, before this one, and this one has the last ten days of stitch meditations, I'll try not to write so much otherwise!
#41-50/100
recycled fabrics/scraps and Perle cotton threads
#41-an old cloth dinner napkin base with a fat quarter scrap and a piece of an old kitchen curtain
#42-a fat quarter scrap base, a scrap of an Asian fabric with gold accents, and a piece of cloth with text from another project that didn't materialize
#43-a fat quarter scrap base with a pink strip from my old blouse, a peach strip leftover from a doll I made, and a star piece from an old ironing board cover
#44-pink base from an old blouse of mine, as is the turquoise stripe, brown fat quarter scrap
#45-fat quarter scrap base, two scrap Asian fabrics with gold accents, and newsprint cotton scrap
#46-some kind of crinkled cotton from mom's stash that I inherited base, pink from my old blouse, fat quarter orange scrap, and cotton text, variegated cotton embroidery thread that our niece gave me, and a goldish safety pin- I thought I circled "you are the rainbow", but I missed the "the" and didn't notice it until I scanned it in, but the one rule is not to pick out any mistakes, so I'm leaving it!
#47-fat quarter scrap turquoise base and brown square, paisley from a pair of my old pajama bottoms, and a clay colored button off some garment (I cut all the buttons/trim off of old clothes and save for occasions such as this.)
#48-base from hubby's very old pajamas during a hospital stay many years ago, a piece of cheesecloth that I rust dyed a while back just to see if I could, and a yellow silk like sun from my old pajamas in younger days
#49-fat quarter scrap base with text and black piece, cotton scrap with print, red piece from my old blouse, and an old black button
#50-base of old crinkly cotton from mom's stash, a tea dyed scrap, a piece off an old floral sheet that I loved, and four buttons off an old garment
I'm half done now! Only fifty more to go, and I haven't done today's yet! These are such fun!
So that's it! I'm caught up with stitching, sketching, and posting through yesterday! Looking forward to doing today's stitching/sketching, but a few other things to do first...
I am inspired by so many in the stitch med group, but I wish I had seen this one lady's post before I started mine, or a least a few days after. Part of the practice is meditating on what the pieces you choose mean while you stitch, and many people include their thoughts about their pieces in their posts. This lady shared a picture where she had made little folded cards, and on the inside left she attached her stitched piece, and on the right side she wrote what it meant to her. She had one for each piece, and they were not only pretty and interesting looking, but the folded card was easy to store. I may yet do some of mine like that, because each each piece does have its own story!
I hope you enjoyed your visit! The laundry needs attention, again, so I hope you have a blessed and creative day! See you next post!
