Intuitive Lady Sketch

 Just a sketch of an imaginary lady that emerged from my Stabilo pencil one morning. I was going to add some brushed on water, but decided to let her be.

Not getting much done these days, especially creatively, because life takes precedence. I always feel guilty to put my creative interests first, but I do sometimes, then I feel guilty because the dust and clutter is piling up, plus hubby and I are both going downhill health wise.

We got the septic tank taken care of, hopefully, and I finally got the printer re-installed, then the internet went out last Friday evening, but it came back on while I was online with tech support, so that worked out. We made two trips out of town, which took up two days, with income tax filing, groceries, and I'm having to take B12 shots once a month. Thankfully, I don't need an appointment at the local clinic for that, so it can be taken care of on the way to somewhere else we have to go.

We've also had some company a couple of days this week, and hubby's shoulder has been giving him fits because he keeps getting out over doing it, and he's fallen a couple of times. Luckily nothing broke...this time.

It's been a busy week, but I managed to get in a little creative time, for which I am really grateful. That's always a good thing and a blessing!

Quirky Doodle Abstract Painting

 When I get overwhelmed or stuck I tend to fall back on my quirky doodles. I didn't take a photo of the beginning pencil marks on the page, but these are the images that appeared to me amongst the marks, which I colored in with acrylic paints and a black Zig marker. I couldn't decide where to go next, so I left it for a few days and came back to it with my box of markers and pens and doodled on it until I was doodled out (second photo). 

Some of the lines are a little messy, but I was holding my sketchbook up in one hand while trying to add lines with the other. Not easy!

I accidentally cut about half an inch off the bottom by getting the book too close to the scanner plate edge, so there is actually a strip of the background across the bottom that isn't showing. I was too lazy to re-scan it...

This painting kind of makes me think of hubby and my road trip out west in 2019, especially the southwest, which I loved. 

Anyway, it was fun to do and helped wake up my muse some! Good therapy! No plan. No rules. Just intuitive fun!

More Meditation Stones

I've done some more practicing on the Meditation Stones from the 12 free classes leading up to Christmas on Ivy Newport's site, inspired by Stephanie Ryan's class on flowing watercolors. I still used the Kuretake Japanese watercolors, but this time on watercolor paper, which helped about the buckling, which occurred on the mixed media paper. They look better, I think! I added the dark speckles just for fun! 

These are quite mesmerizing to paint, watching the paints flow into one another, creating different colors and shapes. I will be doing more!
