Walking Spring Field Trip 2020 2

Saturday was such a beautiful day that we decided to go for a slow walk out to the old home place for some exercise and sunshine. Of course, I took my camera along. Some of the subject matter is the same as a couple of weeks ago, but, after a couple of pretty severe storms, a lot of rain, and Spring bursting forth, a lot has changed. More foliage in trees and on the ground, and thousands of tiny white flowers everywhere!

Bloomer Cat was waiting for us when we got back. We were tired and ready for a cup of coffee, but it was a most enjoyable adventure! Nothing like being out in nature!

Hubby lost his camouflage machete cover out of his jacket pocket on our walk, so the next day, Sunday, we took the side by side, because it was cloudy and misting rain, to look for it. We followed the path we walked the day before. No luck finding it. While we were out, we rode on down to Papa's Pond to see if there was any storm damage. A couple of big trees had been blown into the pond by the wind alone, and a couple more that the beavers almost had gnawed in two had also fallen into the pond since our last trip down there. We found the beavers' den, and they had added more mud and sticks to the overflow drain ditch.

I didn't have my camera, as I thought we were only making a quick run to look for the cover. It was too cloudy, cold, misting rain, and I didn't have a cap on or an umbrella. We enjoyed the trip, but got back to the house cold and damp. Hot coffee and some heat hit the spot!

Nature in all its moods and forms is very good for the soul! You just have to listen to the quietness and really look at what you're seeing. I'm very grateful to still be able to get out and see God's handiwork and artistry. Try it sometime. You'll like it!
