I've had this meditation piece pinned together for a few weeks now, and finally got it stitched together. I spent about 3 short intuitive meditation sessions on it actually. It's about 4" x 5" in size and is made of recycled fabric scraps. I like it!
Stitching and painting sessions help take my mind off the insanity going on in the world right now. Some days the news just really gets to me. I try to stay positive though, and I'm truly grateful for all of my blessings, especially the ones I take for granted.
This piece is made up of scraps from two different Richard Simmons exercise shirts (dog, paw print, and checks) that I had years ago, late eighties, when I tried hard to keep my weight down with Richard, red from an old blouse, a piece of text printed cotton, crochet cotton thread, DMC embroidery floss, and tye dye cotton floss. I stitched freehand, with no hoops, and somewhere along the line, I stopped using a backing to stitch on, which accounts for a little puckering.
It's all good though! There is soul therapy and mental peace in just using what is within reach, focusing, and following the needle and thread around the fabric without worrying about it being perfect! I am connected to each piece when it's finished.
Now on to the next one! Stay safe and well out there! 💟
