Two Houses-Watercolor

These two little houses emerged from my imagination one night, while watching TV back during the spring/summer. They made our whole month long road trip with me, because I thought I might finish them at night in the motel. I didn't. Usually too tired to paint, and barely managed to jot down notes. So they stayed like this until last week, when I got into a groove and finished a stitch meditation and four watercolor paintings.

Sorry about the darkness of this photo! Bad lighting. I have finally gotten two floor lamps with adjustable lighting in the last few days, so hopefully my lighting will be improved for both creative projects, as well as, the photos I take of said projects!

A better photo of the beginning, including a couple of other paintings I was working on.

I researched some doors from the southwest on Pinterest, then just kind of made these up as I painted. The numbers were an after thought, but I like them. Wonder what these little buildings are for! Watercolor, applied with a water brush pen and pan colors, with black and white gel ink pens, and one of the few times I used a ruler, which I am terrible at, for straight lines.
