I finished my 15th stitch meditation last yesterday evening. I am still being influenced by the road trip and all of the exquisite landscapes and weather we experienced. This one reminds me of the hills that we saw in the rain.
The whole piece has a pelon backing, which I ironed on before the trip. Yep, I took stitching and art supplies with me! 😀 The large white piece from something discarded, about 4" x 4" is a slightly coarse cotton, which I rust dyed in another project, the green piece is from a batik cotton fat quarter, and the blue piece is a scrap from a really old pair of pajamas worn by my dad and my husband both during hospital stays many years ago.
I used DMC embroidery thread and let the needle do its thing, intuitively. No worrying about straight perfect stitches. I just let it be what it is and added a little brass safety pin for fun. So relaxing and so fun!
I started #16 last night, about as different from all the others as it could be, but interesting nonetheless. I have many sides to me! 😁
I also worked more on a small watercolor painting that I started on our trip today. Not sure it's done yet though. We'll see!
The main thing is I'm getting some creative time in, despite the house needing attention so bad, company, and bathroom troubles. For that, I'm thankful and grateful!
