Hope you all had a good 4th of July holiday! Hubby and I didn't do anything special. We're at the age that we don't feel safe on the roads on holidays and we don't have children, so we stayed in and enjoyed the peace and quiet.
I did do a little more fiddling with the five stitch meditation pieces that I have sort of put together.
I did this meditation today, using various fabrics and embroidery thread, freehand. I was going to use the red felt as as just a backing, but it went so well with the piece that I left enough for a border. The stitches came about as I let the fabric pieces guide me, and I didn't worry about perfection, which is soooooo freeing. I do not do straight and/or perfect in anything. I have finally accepted that I am raw and wonky, so that's how anything I do is going to be also! 😁
This little fairy emerged from my page marks a few days ago. She, along with her bird buddy, was pulled out with a stabilo pencil in my sketchbook. I love her expression!
Stitch meditations and quirky doodles are both great stress reducers and mind relaxers, and I love them both, among other hobbies. Give me music and let me create something, whether it's good or not, and I'm a happy camper!
Let's let our creative flags fly! The world needs all the prettiness it can get!
