These are the last three daily sketches scanned. Keeping up with one a day, so far!
Day 17: I sketched the mug on the right with a mechanical pencil.
Day 18: I sketched the mug on the left and the design on the handle, also with a mechanical pencil.
The two restaurant style mugs were given to my parents by my dad's sister, who worked on a small tow boat in town, when we went on it to visit one day when I was a child in the early fifties. They are thick heavy glass, white with dark green rings around the top and bottom and an upside down teardrop design on the handle. My parents drank their morning coffee out of them every day ever since I could remember, until they died. Now I have them, and they hold many good memories for me.
I set them up touching to represent my parents' closeness for fifty-five years, when my dad died in 2004 and my mom in 2017.
I am kind of journaling as I sketch items that are sentimental to me. I am a very nostalgic and sentimental person. That's a good thing for the memories, but a bad thing in that I don't want to let go of anything!
Anyway, I'm off to do today's sketch! Take care of you!
