Days 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 Sketches 2025 March

It's been kind of a wonky week, and I've had kind of a hard time keeping up with my sketches and stitches, but I managed! The worst of the storms went around us. So thankful! I hope those of you in the path are safe, and prayers for all of those hit by everything! It was a wild, and horrific for many, weekend.

#11-is a small carved wooden angel dressed in off white with a raised tree-like design on the front and wire wings. She has a flesh colored face, with no facial features, and hands, and light brown hair. She was given to me by Hospice after my mom died in 2017. She is very sweet.

#12 and 13 is a resin carousel horse atop a music box. I was tired when I sketched the horse one night, so I didn't include the saddle and decorations. He is white with a reddish mane and tail. I stopped with the horse that night, then the next night I was even more tired, so I just quickly sketched the music box, which is also white with raised roses, vines, etc twined around it. The pole used to be brass colored, but has tarnished into kind of bronze colored. It was given to me by my dad many years ago.

#14 is a larger paler yellow daffodil that hubby brought me from the yard, and I put it in a small delicate cobalt blue vase that I brought from my mom's house after she died. It is so far over to the side because I was going to re-sketch the carousel horse to the right of it, but my eyes gave out, so I left it like this.

#15-Last night I didn't feel like doing much of a sketch, so I moved the daffodil to the other side of the vase and sketched it, making it a double instead of a single!

We had to go out of town at the first of the week to take our income tax to be filed, which may, or may not, run into a problem this year. Fingers crossed it's ok!

Then a couple of days later, we had to go even further out of town to the Retina specialist for a follow up to my visit a month ago. Eyes dilated and tested again, which showed the bleeding had improved, so I got another shot in my eyeball, and he will check it again in three months. This time they gave me temporary sunglasses (they roll up) to wear home, which was really good because the sun was shining this time. My eyes bothered me after the visit for a while, but not like they did the first time. I could actually see the letters on the chart this time with my left eye. The last time I couldn't see the letters, just a big blur. Thankful!

And all the wild and horrific weather this weekend that has devastated so many in so many ways! Scary and nerve wracking!

So we took it easy between trips, we had company two days, a couple of stormy days, and it's already Sunday again, and our friend, who visits us every Sunday after church will be here shortly, so until next post, Take care and be safe and creative!
