Beginning a New Journal Page w Jeanne Oliver

This is a bonus class with the course, Storytellers and Mavericks, with jeanneoliver.com , and is a class from her course Reflections of Me, called Timeline, which is an unusual design for a timeline, in that it's round, but it will be a timeline of my life, using collage, symbols, marks, etc. to tell part of my story.

I covered my journal pages (approx 9" x 12") with scrapbooking paper that has the words "I love you" repeated all over and drew large and small circles divided into eight sections.

I have marked the sections with the suggestions Jeanne used in her own timeline, but I'm thinking I may change mine up a bit. The circle in the middle is my core belief, and each section will represent a period in my life.

I did a hard, for me, thing this morning, in that I took a large painting on paper that wasn't working and tore it up into interesting pieces to use in collage. I'm thinking I'm going to use some pieces of it on my timeline pages!

My pages will look nothing like Jeanne's, but they're not supposed to, as amazing and interesting as hers is. I'm taking her suggestions and trying to give them my own spin for my story. Hopefully, it'll be interesting!

I have watched part of the videos from Storytellers, and am anxious to try some of the transference practices, and I can't wait to make the brown bag and wire journal, before watching the rest of the projects!

I love these projects where I can use old photos of family to tell my stories! I'm still considering taking the whole Reflections of Me Course!

BUT, I have also gone back and bought the first course on making Santos Cage Dolls with Jennifer Rizzo, also on Jeanne Oliver's site. I bought the second one first when they were on sale. Anyway, I've watched all the videos for the first course, and have been searching online for the 8" paper mache torsos that she used, and I can't find any. It would make making the dolls easier, but, after much research online, I've about decided to just do an armature with padding, then cover that with paper clay. I have a decorative birdcage that I have been eyeing to use for a skirt for a cage doll for some time. So, we'll see how that goes! I just have to find my armature wire first...

So, that's what's occupying my mind creatively at the moment! Never mind all the other half done projects stacked up on my table, including some fabric journals and a snippet roll waiting for buttons!

Stay safe, well, and creative!
