So, last month, at the beginning of the "stay at home" order, I signed up for Jeanne Oliver's online course for the Wandering Muse, mostly for the bookbinding class, using plaster, canvas, and wire, hoping to get my creative juices flowing again.
I have watched three of the videos on sketching/drawing/other techniques that can be used in the book, but have yet to do the work/play. I think the Coronavirus worry (because hubby and I are old with health issues) and Spring fever are playing a big part in my vanishing muse. Pollen is also really bad this year! Getting to both of us. 😷
Some of the other teachers have offered free video classes also, and I have watched a couple of collage and art journaling classes from Ivette Newport, which I want to try, and I have made notes for when I'm ready. Links for Jeanne and Ivette are on the sidebar.
I borrowed this picture from Olga Furman, who has also been offering free classes/challenges during the virus outbreak to encourage us to stay home to stop the spread of it. Link also on sidebar.
These are some really good teachers, with lots to offer on their websites, if you need some inspiration and encouragement during this stressful time! Art is a great stress reliever!
So is being outside, enjoying nature, listening to birdsongs, exploring, spending quality time with loved ones, and taking pictures!
I did do a little meditative stitching on a piece yesterday, but couldn't really get into it. I have several pieces pinned together for when I can focus again, and I look forward to watching the bookbinding video and getting started on a book, plus finishing up some small watercolor paintings.
In the meantime, I also enjoy taking photos and will share my adventures in nature with you until my needles and brushes/pens start moving again! Hope you enjoy! 😊
