Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning in the early sixties when I was maybe twelve years old and crazy about horses. I was an only child and this is about as exciting as it got on Christmas morning at our house. After breakfast we would go to my maternal grandmother's house for a big family gathering and meal, then to my paternal grandmother's for a while, where we would see other family members, before returning home, where I could finally read and/or play with my Christmas gifts. I loved to read (still do), so I usually got horse or Nancy Drew/Trixie Belden mystery books, some kind of toy, and this year I got fuzzy house shoes.

The pink ball almost in the center of the live cedar tree has always been my favorite ornament. It's actually bubble gum pink with Merry Christmas written in white script (like cake frosting) on it, and I still have it. I also still have these books! Old things are the best! 😊

Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season and a very blessed New Year!
Thank you for visiting my blog and being an encouragement and a part of my life!

Merry Christmas!
