Last Week's Reading and Sketching

One day last week, in between reading books, I picked up one of my mechanical pencils and did a little sketching to try to stay in practice until my want to comes back. The first two are quirky doodle images, which emerged from a bunch of random pencil marks on my sketchbook pages, plus a few enhancements from my imagination. I left most of the random marks on the pages just for fun.

The third one is from my imagination, just to see if I can still sketch a resemblance of a face. I'm ok with her.

You may can tell that my heart wasn't in it (my heart isn't into much these days), but at least I tried.

I've also put the cage doll parts in a cookie tin and set her aside for now, because I didn't want to go to the trouble of sanding all the places that I need glue to stick. I HATE sanding, and I suspect that that is the reason the pieces didn't stick the first time.

All I want to do right now is read, and I read the whole book "The Last of the Moon Girls" by Barbara Davis last week after I finished another book, whose title escapes me at this moment, but it was also a mystery. I also read more chapters in the "Simple Abundance Companion" by Sarah Ban Breathnach and am halfway through "Girl Alone" by Blake Pierce. All good reads, as were several other mystery/thrillers I've read in the last few weeks on my Kindle. I'm also reading about and looking at a lot of art stuff online, as well as playing a lot of Mahjong. Reading was one of my first passions, that I haven't done much of in a long time, so I've re-discovered how much I love reading books again. I love it!

Just wish I could get my dining room/studio cleaned and organized so that I have room to create in a better space than my recliner. I also need to be able to find stuff! I think it might help my muse to come back home.  Maybe soon ...

Thanks for visiting, take care, and stay safe and well! :).
