At first, I saw a woman wearing a red hat standing on the left side, a black dog in the front, and a dark bird on the middle right. The next day I saw a woman in dark gray tights, yellow top, and red hat bending over in front of the standing woman, looking at flowers, while petting an orange cat. I liked this so much that I printed off a copy on matte photo paper. I am aggravated that the background showed up this bluish color instead of the white that it actually is, but it works ok, I think.
Anyway, a couple of days later, I was going to put the painting in the "keep" pile, only to discover that I had cleaned off my brush and knife on it some more. Yikes! So below is what it looks like now.
I still like it, but not quite as much. Thank goodness I made a photo of the first version! I don't see quite as much imagery in this version...yet.
So I made an accidental abstract in acrylics by cleaning off excess paint, which I really like. Creating, whether intentional, or not, is always an adventure!
I'm still working on some other painting class projects, looking for just the right accessories for the Santos cage dolls I made, trying to get myself to sew a bunch of buttons on my fabric roll, get started on stitch meditations again, and now I have discovered Morgan Brig's mixed media sculptures and want to try one. So many new fun things to try and so many works in progress that I need to finish, and so little time!
Time marches on, and this month is almost half gone already. Unbelievable!
