Still playing with flowing watercolors into meditation stones and flowers inspired by Stephanie Ryan's class! Chinese watercolors (not sure of the name-M something) on watercolor paper. I also experimented with a white gel pen a bit.
I have had these tube watercolors for a few years, and I'm not sure they're good to use, and I wouldn't if I was going to gift or sell these. A couple of the tubes were hard as rocks dried up, one was half dried up and only binder poured out of the tube, and some of them had more clear liquid than color come out, despite my massaging the tube beforehand. The colors are very pretty, but I think they have chemically changed too much to use, so, regretfully, they will probably go into the trash bin.
On this one, I just started brushing different reds onto the paper, letting them flow into one another off the wet brush, dropping in a few other colors, along. The shape, when dry, reminded me of a poppy, so that's what it became, and I added the other little flowers for balance. I noticed the little flowers didn't have stems after it was done, but I decided I kind of like them "floating".
All of these meditation stones are the same watercolors on wc paper, and are all experiments, and, again, the backgrounds are all actually white. I love the speckles on them. I think it kind of ties the stones together. On the top one, actually my last one, I decided to add a string, some white gel pen, and some salt texture with the speckles. I like it! (Wish the photos were better! Sorry!)
Stay safe and creative!
