Mr. Jingles Came to Visit!

So, today is Christmas Eve, and ten days ago, late in the evening, Santa niece, her husband, and two of their sons came to our house wearing their masks (because covid-19) and left Mr. Jingles and his box of gifts at our door. This was a great surprise, since we hadn't seen them in a while. We visited outside for a few minutes, before they left. It was cold, so they didn't stay long.

Then we brought Mr. Jingles in and read the instructions on the front of the box. The box was full of little individually wrapped gifts with no names on them, with instructions for us to open and do one gift each every day for ten days, then on Christmas day to open all that were left. We have had a blast opening the gifts each night, and I've sent her a few pix to prove it, including a little video of hubby doing a jig for her in the elf socks he opened the second night!

First night-two gifts opened and more peeking out the top of the box!

Nine more sets of gifts opened, minus a couple hubby forgot to put on the stack! Two more to open tonight, then the rest, 3-4 apiece, tomorrow! Fun stuff!

I don't know where she got the idea, but it was so sweet and thoughtful of her, plus it took her a lot of time to put it together for us. The best part was seeing them in person though. We wanted to hug them so bad! Maybe soon!

She and her brother are the only niece and nephew we have, and since we don't have children, they are the closest thing we have. This will be the first Christmas in fifty years {their whole lives}that we didn't spend with them, but it isn't safe. We are old, overweight, and we both have diabetes, among other health concerns, so we are staying home, and it will be just the two of us.

Anyway, although we will miss being with them, we're so thankful to have each other, still able to be in our own home, that we're both still here, and that, for now, our loved ones are okay, and we're okay. So much heartache and chaos in all of our lives, but we are still blessed and grateful, if we pay attention.

Prayers that we all stay safe and well, have a good Christmas, and that the pandemic goes away soon!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE AND DAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!
