Around the Yard Fall 2019

Some pictures around our place, that I made on a couple of beautiful fall days the past few days. Pictures don't do the colors justice, but I couldn't resist trying!

Across mama and daddy's garden spot toward the main road. Sage grass colors in the fall are spectacular!

Bloomer Cat sunning and being cute.

Bloomer Cat still sunning and napping.

Daddy's old barn/shed, built in the forties/fifties.

Daddy's hay shed, built in the seventies/eighties.

Across mama and daddy's garden corner and across the main highway. Concrete is where daddy's shop used to be.

Mama's monkey grass and overgrown garden corner.

Neglected tiny flower garden by the kitchen door. The concrete boy's head froze and fell off a couple of winters ago, so now he pushes it in his wheelbarrow. The plaque says, "Welcome to my Garden." It used to be pretty, before life got complicated and my energy depleted.

Hubby's cousin, Bobby, brought him this pumpkin over two months ago. It rotted before I got a face painted on it.

Hedge apple tree and hedge apples in mama's driveway behind her house. She hated that tree with a purple passion! They do make a terrible sticky mess when they get squashed. Hubby has since picked them up.

Hubby and Bloomer Cat, after we got back from riding down to the pond, through the overgrown fields. She was so happy to see us! You would have thought we'd been gone forever! Didn't care a bit that we were covered in seed!

Hubby's fishing net hanging in the car shed. I can see a face in the bottom of it!

One of hubby's lemon trees in the pasture behind our house, toward the tractor shed. The tree is pretty when loaded with the bright yellow lemons. Too bad they aren't good!

The last of the mini rose blooms...

Yep! I brought back a tumbleweed from our trip out west! Hope I don't get into trouble! We picked it up in NV or UT, and it rode in the back seat the rest of the trip to ND, and all the way back home. We finally had to put it in a garbage bag because of all the seed! Jim hung it in a tree next to the house when we got home, and it took a while to vacuum the seed out of the car. I'm sure he missed a few!

It turned off cold and rainy for the past weekend here at Rabbit Hop, and still is. We made a trip to the grocery store in a neighboring town, because our town no longer has one, in the pouring rain Friday, and our friend, Nina, spent Sunday evening with us. I worked some more in our road trip journal Saturday and Sunday, and got a lot of the ephemera that I brought back glued down. Still a lot more to go though!

Not sure what I'll work on today yet. We slept way in this morning, and hubby is fixing commode problems in our main bathroom, so the water is off. I'm still in my gown, sipping my wake-up coffee, and trying to decide whether to glue some more down in the journal, work on a stitch meditation that I started a couple of weeks ago, or straighten my studio/dining room while I look for the gel medium that has somehow gotten misplaced. Hmmmmm...

Hope you all have a blessed and creative week ahead!
